J. W. McCarty's The Original Honey Dipper

40 Years in the Business

The Original Honey Dipper — built from a jobsite up.

John W. McCarty started this company in 1985 because he knew the work could be done better. Forty years later, North Central West Virginia is still calling.

How it started

He saw the job being done poorly. He fixed that.

In 1985, John W. McCarty started McCarty's Portable Toilets in Weston, WV — because he'd worked a construction site and watched the sanitation go wrong.

He knew the industry. He'd grown up in it, working alongside his father before the family company was sold. When he saw those same old problems playing out on a jobsite — unreliable pickups, neglected units, no accountability — he decided to do it right himself.

He set out to bring something different to North Central WV: new modern units, dependable service, and a business you could actually call and count on. That reputation took root one job at a time. It's held for 40 years.

Once the portable toilet side was running strong, McCarty added a septic tank pumping truck — building out what became McCarty's Septic Service. One company. One standard. Two services your property may well need.
